Job description
Evaluation Associates is seeking a director of business development to develop a long-term strategic growth plan for the firm and generate targeted added revenue for the firm’s consulting practice through the direct acquisition of new clients. This position reports to the firm’s managing director.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- oversee internal sales reporting and sales management activities
- develop and implement a structured sales/business development process
- build and manage an active pipeline of new business opportunities including developing early stage prospects and active pursuits
- build strong firm relationships with key referral sources
- coordinate sales strategies and sales efforts with Milliman to best leverage firm-wide capabilities with prospects
- work with marketing staff to build differentiating/consistent sales collateral that enhances the firm’s competitive position
- make recommendation for new business products and services to meet marketplace needs and grow the business
- lead and support presentations to clients and prospects with team members from the appropriate lines of business
- manage staff in proposal and presentation writing
- take a leadership role in collaborating with senior professionals at the firm to assist them in developing business with new and existing clients
- actively participate in business conferences and professional organizations and networks, and encourage others in the practice to do the same
- foster and support an internal sales culture within the firm
Requirements/qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or advanced degree in business or other related disciplines
- minimum seven years business development experience in investment consulting or asset management, with an emphasis on institutional marketplace
- proven track record of significantly increasing year-to-year sales
- experience with budgeting processes
- strong analytical, selling, negotiating, and problem solving skills
- excellent planning, organizing, and prioritizing skills
- excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- demonstrated ability to build teamwork with and across multiple disciplines and professionals
- demonstrated personal integrity
- willingness to travel
