Abstract
Investors are beginning to wonder if recent market volatility is a sign of trouble to come or just a natural correction given the recent run up in the markets, with China as a prime example of this volatility over the past several years. Some investors are beginning to fear a bear market is on the horizon, while others believe that the increased volatility is natural given recent uncharacteristically low levels. Whether it is a bear market or larger correction that looms ahead, the economic evidence points to shift in the market cycle following the current five-year bull market run.
